Bourassa Named MASCAC Indoor Track Rookie of the Week

Shirley, Mass. native collects second weekly honor of the season

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman Liam Bourassa (Shirley, Mass.) was recently tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Track Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

The first-year Falcons notches his second weekly accolade of the 2023-23 campaign after finishing fifth overall in the high jump with a mark of 1.65 meters, while adding a personal best toss of 13.05 meters in the shotput to finish second in the event.

Bourassa continued his stellar performances at the 2023 Panther Invitational, placing fifth overall in the weight throw with a PR toss of 12.17 meters as well as finishing 17th in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.68 seconds.

The Fitchburg State Men's Indoor Track team returns to action on Saturday as they compete in the 2023 Westfield Invite, hosted Smith College.
