Jim Jellison: Head Coach (44th Season; 17 MASCAC Team Titles)

Jim Jellison is in his 44th season as head coach of the Fitchburg State men's indoor and outdoor track teams. He has led the Falcons to 17 Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) team titles, including a MASCAC Championship during the 2009 outdoor season.

Through his hard work over the past three seasons, Jellison has showcased Fitchburg State as a top competitor in the MASCAC Conference throughout the fall, winter and spring. Named the MASCAC Cross Country Coach of the Year in 2017, Jellison led the Falcons to a Men's Championship title in 2018, while guiding Fitchburg State to another MASCAC crown the previous season (2017).

Over the course of his 2007-08 season, Jellison and the Falcons saw three runners qualify for the NCAA Division III Regional Championships hosted by Connecticut College. At the Championships, the men's team garnered a 23rd place finish out of a field of 59, while the women's squad finished 44th overall.

In addition to his track and field duties, Jellison also serves as men's and cross country coach at Fitchburg State. He has been coaching both cross-country and women's track since 1979, while taking over the men's track position in 1994. Jellison was a major catalyst in the rebuilding of the men's program, which only started with five athletes. Today, Jellision's cross country teams average over 22 runners, while the track teams boast a strong 40+ athletes.

Throughout his tenure, Jellison has also coached 51 NCAA All-Americans including seven National Champions. He has led the Falcons to several post-season honors, including appearances at the Division III New England's, All-New England's and ECAC Championships.
