Fitchburg State Competes at 2016 ECAC Division III Championships

WESTFIELD, Mass. –  The Fitchburg State men's outdoor track and field team competed in the 2016 ECAC Division III Championship Meet, hosted by Westfield State University at the Gravel Track on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon.
 
The Falcons' 4x800 relay team finished 8th with a new school record of 7:52.74. The four relay runners (with split times) were senior Richard Ethier, IV (1:55.9), junior Brandon Hannon (2:02.5), sophomore Jake Hasting (1:57.6), and junior Chauncey Beatty (1:56.74).
 
Beatty also ran the 400m hurdles in 55.66, one of the fastest times in school history. Freshman Cameron Stalters placed fourth in javelin at 57.09, while sophomore Ben Sattiewhite turned in a 1.96 in the high jump. 
 
Select members of the Fitchburg State men's track & field team await their selection into the 2016 NCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships next week.
