Stalters And Woolley To Compete At 2018 NCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field National Championships

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Junior Cameron Stalters (Norton, Mass.) and senior Annie Woolley (Malden, Mass.) will represent Fitchburg State University this week at the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championships hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on May 24th through May 26th at the Veteran's Memorial Field Sports Complex.

Stalters currently ranks third in the nation in the javelin, earning his third trip to the big dance after a stellar junior season. Cameron notched his qualifying throw into the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championships after setting a new meet record with a toss of 68.48 meters to take top honors in the javelin at the 2018 DIII New England Championships, hosted by MIT earlier this month.

Woolley enters this year's NCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field National Championships ranked first in the nation the 100 meter hurdles, collecting her fourth trip to the National Championships after witnessing an outstanding senior campaign. Annie earned a trip the big dance after placing first overall in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.03 seconds at the 2018 DIII NE Championships, hosted by MIT on May, 5th.

The javelin will start at approximately 12:00 PM on Friday, May 25th, while the 100 meter hurdles prelims will begin at 3:30 PM on the same day.

For each women's individual event including the pentathlon, the top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition, while for each men's individual event including the heptathlon, the top 20 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each relay event contested, the top 16 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted in the competition.

The Fitchburg State men's and women's outdoor track and field teams recently concluded their seasons earlier this month as members of the squads competed at the 2018 MIT Last Chance National Qualifying Meet at the Henry G. Steinbrenner Stadium.
