Falcons Place 21st At DIII NE Championships

McWinnie-Armstead and Buckland earn DIII All-NE Honors

Williamstown, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University men's outdoor track & field team placed 21st overall with a total of 11 points at the DIII New England Championships this weekend, hosted by Williams College.

How It Happened

Sophomore Christian McWhinnie-Armstead (Lowell, Mass.) led the way for the Falcons, placing second in the high jump with an Open New England qualifying jump of 2.01 meters to earn DIII New England Honors.

Junior Zachary Buckland (Billerica, Mass.) also collected DIII New England Honors for the Green and Gold in the decathlon with a score of 5399 points, while sophomore Jacob Movsessian (New Ipswich, N.H.) finished tenth in the 10,000 meter with a time of 32:52.56

Junior Wilkerson Pierre (Cambridge, Mass.) turned in a 16th place effort in the triple jump with a mark of 12.73 meters, while senior Joseph Darrigo (Tewksbury, Mass.) placed tenth overall in the 3,000 meter steeple chase with a time of 10:07.49
