Bio

Kyle Wilson enters his 11th season as an assistant track and field coach with the Fitchburg State men’s and women’s track and field teams, working primarily with the sprinters and jumpers as well as helping with the strength and conditioning of all the track athletes.

Kyle is also entering his seventh season as the pole vaulting coach at Marlborough High School, while also having 13 years of experience as a coach at the Central Mass Track & Field Academy at Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass.

He graduated Cum Laude from Fitchburg State University in 2007 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology as well as earning is MBA from Fitchburg State in 2011.

During his time as member of the Fitchburg State University men’s track and field team, Kyle served as a three time captain, while also earning Fitchburg State’s Male Athlete Rookie of the Year during his rookie campaign as well as being named FSU’s Male Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year in his senior season.

Kyle is also a former Fitchburg State and MASCAC record holder in the pole vault as well as earning multiple All-DIII NE, All-ECAC and All-NEICAAA Honors during his time as a member of the Fitchburg State Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field teams.

He is a member both the Who’s Who Among College Students and Alpha Lambda Delta Freshman Honor Society, while also a recipient of the Vincent Mara Academic Scholarship. Kyle was also a member both the Fitchburg State football team and the Biology Club.

Kyle is also a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, holding a certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), while also holding both a USA Track and Field (USATF) Level II Jumps Coach Certification and a USA Weightlifting (USAW) Level I Sports Performance Coach Certification.

While coaching at Fitchburg State, Kyle has coached three individual’s to the Fitchburg State women’s track pole vaulting record (7’6”, 9’6” and 11’1”) as well as the current Fitchburg State men’s track pole vaulting record holder (15’2”) which broke his school record mark of 15’1.

At Marlborough High, Kyle has coached a pair of girls to the MHS pole vaulting record (10’0’ and 11’0”) as well as the current boys MHS pole vault record of 14’3”, while broke a 25 year record of 14’0”.

Kyle is married to his wife Andrea Wilson and they have two children (Tiago and Andrea). He is entering his fifth year as a faculty member within the Fitchburg State Exercise & Sports Science Department, while also still competing competitively with the Patriot Pole Vault Club with a PR of 15’6”.
