Falcons Duo Sweep MASCAC Weekly Honors
A. Darrigo tabbed rookie of the week; Ouellette selected runner of the week
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Freshman Anthony Darrigo was named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) men's cross country Rookie of the Week, while senior Eric Ouellette earned MASCAC men's cross country Runner of the Week honors as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Darrigo collects his first weekly honor on the season after helping the Fitchburg State men's cross country team to a ninth place showing at the 2015 UMass Dartmouth Shriners Invitational on Saturday afternoon with a time of 27:00.02 (71st).
Ouellette also earns his first weekly accolade of the 2015 campaign, placing sixth overall with a solid time of 25:27.14 over the 8K layout as the Fitchburg State men's cross country team placed ninth out of a 43 team field at the 2015 UMass Dartmouth Shriners Invite this past weekend.
The Fitchburg State men's and women's cross country teams return to action on Saturday as they compete in the 2015 Worcester City Meet with the women running at 10:00 am, while the men's race is slated to start at 10:45 a.m.
