Men’s Cross Country Sweeps MASCAC Weekly Honors
A.Darrigo named rookie of the week; Ouellette tabbed runner of the week
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Freshman Anthony Darrigo was named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) men's cross country Rookie of the Week, while senior Eric Ouellette earned MASCAC men's cross country Runner of the Week honors as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Darrigo collects his second weekly accolade the 2015 campaign after the freshman placed 202nd overall with a time of 27:02 as the Fitchburg State men's cross country team competed a the 2015 All-New England Championship Meet at Franklin Park on Saturday afternoon, which featured Division I, II and III runners from across New England.
Ouellette also earns his second weekly honor of the season, placing 58th overall with a stellar time of 25:39 over the 8K layout as the Fitchburg State men's cross country team competed at the 2015 All-New England Championship Meet on Saturday at Franklin Park in Boston.
The Fitchburg State men's and women's cross country teams return to action on Friday as they compete in the 2015 Saints Invitational, hosted by Emmanuel College at Franklin Park in Boson with the women running at 4:00 pm, while the men's race is slated to start at 4:45 p.m.
