A. Darrigo Named Men’s Cross Country Rookie of the Week
Tewksbury, Mass. native collects fourth weekly honor of the season
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Freshman Anthony Darrigo was recently tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Darrigo earned MASCAC men's cross country Rookie of the Year honors as the top first time performer, placing sixth overall with a time of 27:51 over the 8K layout at the MASCAC Championship Meet at Moore State Park in Paxton on Saturday as the Falcons claimed its first MASCAC Championship crown since 2008.
The Fitchburg State men's and women's cross country team return to action on Saturday as they complete at the 2015 ECAC DIII NE Championship Meet, hosted by Mount Greylock High School with the women's race scheduled to start at 11 am, while the men are slated to start 12 pm.
