Fitchburg State Excels At Corsairs Invitational

Hastings places 21st overall to pace Falcons

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass – The Fitchburg State men's cross country team was in action this morning, placing 13th overall with total of 337 points at the 2016 Corsairs Invitational, hosted by UMass Dartmouth.

Leading the way for the Falcons was junior Jake Hastings, who placed 21st overall with a time of 25:49.60, while sophomore Anthony Darrigo followed in 62nd place with a time of 27:05.90 over the 8K layout.

Sophomore Joseph Darrigo was next into the chute for the Green and Gold, turning in a time of 27:10.05, while senior Matthew Cuomo posted a solid time of 27:23.90. Next up for the Falcons was senior Michael Martin, who finished with time of 28:22.87, while sophomore Mark Tonelli (30:18) and newcomer Brandon DiGregorio (31:09.06) rounded out Fitchburg State's top efforts on the day.

The Fitchburg State men's cross country team returns to action on Friday as it completes at the 2016 Worcester City Meet at Moore State Park, hosted by Worcester State University for a meet starting at 4 p.m.
