Fitchburg State Shines At Worcester City Meet

Cuomo paces Falcons with ninth place effort

PAXTON, Mass. – The Fitchburg State men's cross country team was in action this afternoon, placing fifth overall with a total of 122 points at the 2016 Worcester City Meet, hosted by Worcester State University.

Senior Matthew Cuomo lead the way for the Falcons, placing ninth overall with a time of 29:03, while freshman Troy Hoyt followed in 27th place with time of 31:10 over the five mile course at Moore State Park.

Sophomore Mark Tonelli was next into the chute for the Green and Gold, turning in a time of 31:42, while classmate Austin Landress posted a time of 32:15. Newcomer Brandon DiGregorio notched a solid time of 33:06, while freshman Sam Kupperstein (33:27) and junior Liam Eble (34:48) closed out the top efforts for the Falcons on the day.

The Fitchburg State men's cross country returns to action next Saturday as it completes in the 2016 Keene State College Invitational for a meet starting at 11 a.m.
