North Dartmouth, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University men's cross country returned to action this afternoon, placing eighth overall at the 2017 UMass Dartmouth Cross Country Invitational with a total of 278 points.

How It Happened
Fitchburg State was paced by senior Brian Amaral (Tewksbury, Mass./Tewksbury), who placed 12th overall with a time of 25:48.0, while junior Anthony Darrigo (Tewksbury, Mass./Tewksbury) followed in 26th place, posting a time of 26:18.6 over the 8K course.
Senior Jake Hastings (Phillipston, Mass./Monty Tech) was next, entering the chute with a time of 26:28.8, while junior Joseph Darrigo (Tewksbury, Mass./Tewksbury) registered a time of 27:01.9.
Rounding out the top seven efforts for the Green and Gold were newcomer Jacob Movsessian (New Ipswich, N.H./Mascenic) (27:54.6), junior Stephen McCall (Brockton, Mass./Brockton) (28.14.9) and senior Mark Tonelli (Ayer, Mass./Ayer-Shirley) (28.49.7).
