Falcons Shine At Worcester City Meet
Fitchburg State places third overall with 89 points
Paxton, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University men's cross country competed in the 2017 Worcester City Meet this afternoon at Moore State Park, placing third overall with a total of 89 points.

How It Happened
The Falcons were paced by junior Stephen McCall (Brockton, Mass.), who placed 13th overall with a time of 29:59, while senior Mark Tonelli (Ayer, Mass.) was next, crossing the line in 17th with a time of 30:35 over the five mile course.
Newcomer Timothy Sheehy (Wakefield, Mass.) followed in the 18th slot with a time of 30:45, while sophomore Brandon DiGregorio (Somerville, Mass.) entered the chute with a time of 31:41.
Rounding out the top seven runners for the Falcons were freshmen Joe Weston (Middleton, Conn.) (31:56). Anthony Ortwein (Fitchburg, Mass.) (32:44) and Andrew Hill (Templeton, Mass.) (34:49).
Inside the Numbers
Fitchburg State placed fifth overall at last year's Worcester City Meet with a total of 122 points
WPI claimed first place by amassing a total of 15 points
Sophomore Avery Ingegneri (Warwick, R.I.) of WPI crossed the finish line first with a time of 27:50.
