Falcons Shine At Saints Invite
McCall and Weston guide Fitchburg State to eighth place finish
Boston, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University men's cross country team returned to action this evening as it placed eighth overall with a total of 223 points at the 2017 Saints Cross Country Invitational, hosted by Emmanuel College at Franklin Park.

How It Happened
Junior Stephen McCall (Brockton, Mass.) paved the way for the Falcons, placing 20th overall with a time of 28:16 over the 8K layout, while freshman Joe Weston (Middleton, Mass.) placed 29th with a solid time of 28:28.
Newcomer Timothy Sheehy (Wakefield, Mass.) was next for the Green and Gold, entering the chute at 28:41 to finish in the 30th slot, while sophomore Brandon DiGregorio (Somerville, Mass.) notched a time of 29:54.
Freshman James Casale (Wakefield, Mass.), senior Liam Eble (Ridge, N.Y.) and freshman Cristian Lantigua (Lawrence, Mass.) rounded out the top efforts for Fitchburg State with times of 32:15, 35:05 and 35:36 respectively.
Inside the Numbers
Fitchburg State placed fourth overall at last year's Saints Invite with a total of 132 points.
Wentworth won the 2017 Saints Cross Country Invite after registering 32 points.
Senior Alex Robbins (Mansfield, Mass.) of Wentworth took home top honors at the 2017 Saints Invite with a time of 26:03.
