Fitchburg State Hosts Annual Jim Sheehan Memorial Invite
Falcons place second overall with a total of 79 points
Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University men's cross country opened its 2018 season this morning as the Falcons placed second overall at their annual Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational at the Doyle Conservation Center with a total of 79 points.

How It Happened
Fitchburg State was paced by sophomore Jacob Movsessian (Ipswich, N.H./Mascenic), who placed 5th overall with a time of 26:44, while senior Joseph Darrigo (Tewksbury, Mass./Tewksbury) followed in 6th place, posting a time of 27:06 over the 8K course.
Fellow senior Anthony Darrigo (Tewksbury, Mass./Tewksbury) was next, entering the chute with a time of 27:48, while classmate Stephen McCall (Brockton, Mass./Brockton) registered a time of 29:17.
Rounding out the top seven efforts for the Green and Gold were sophomore Anthony Ortwein (Fitchburg, Mass./Fitchburg) (29:37), classmate James Casale (Wakefield, Mass./Malden Catholic) (31:00) and sophomore Andrew Hill (Templeton, Mass./Mahar Regional) (32:40).
