Fitchburg State places third overall with 93 points
Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University men's cross country team returned to action this weekend, placing third overall at the 2018 Worcester City Meet with a total of 93 points at Moore State Park this afternoon.

How It Happened
Fitchburg State was led by sophomore Timothy Sheehy (Wakefield, R.I./South Kingstown), who placed 16th overall with a time of 29:37.0, while classmate Brandon DiGregorio (Somerville, Mass./Nashua North) followed in 25th place, posting a time of 32:12.7 over the five mile course.
Sophomore James Casale (Wakefield, Mass./Malden Catholic) was next, entering the chute with a time of 32:25.7, while classmate Joe Weston (Middleboro, Mass./Mascomomet Regional) registered a time of 34:02.8.
Rounding out the top seven efforts for the Green and Gold were freshman Nicholas Sachetta (Billerica, Mass./Shawsheen Valley Tech) (34:39.7), sophomore Samuel Kupperstein (Lincoln, Mass./Lincoln-Sudbury) (34:52.4) and senior Colin McShane (Malden, Mass./Winchester) (34:55.0).

Junior Jake Scarponi (Barrington, N.H./Coe-Brown Northwood Academy) of WPI took top honors at the 2018 Worcester City Meet with a time of 27:26.3.
