Falcons Repeat As MASCAC MXC Champions

Movsessian places third overall with time of 27:39.98

Williamstown, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University men's cross country team repeated as Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Cross Country Champions this afternoon after placing first overall with 46 points at Mount Greylock High School.

How It Happened

Fitchburg State was paced by sophomore Jacob Movsessian (Ipswich, N.H./Mascenic), who earned All MASCAC honors with a third place time of 27:39.98, while senior Joseph Darrigo (Tewksbury, Mass./Tewksbury) followed with a time of 28:05.81 over the 8K course to also earn All-MASCAC accolades with a fifth place finish.

Senior Anthony Darrigo (Tewksbury, Mass./Tewksbury) was next, posting a sixth place effort with a time of 28:08.45 , while sophomore Timothy Sheehy (Wakefield R.I./South Kingstown) crossed the finish line in tenth with a time of 28:31.55.

Sophomore Joe Weston (Middleton, Mass./Mascomomet Regional) (30:12.55), senior Stephen McCall (Brockton, Mass./Brockton) (31:02.30) and sophomore Andrew Hill (Templeton, Mass./Mahar Regional) (32:36.30) rounded out the top finishers for the Falcons on the day.

Fitchburg State captured first place at last year's MASCAC Championships with a total of 30 points.

Junior Trevor Wysong (Taunton, Mass./Taunton) of Bridgewater State placed first overall at the 2018 MASCAC Championships with a time of 27:17.22.
