Boston, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University men's cross country team placed eighth overall (out of 24 teams) at the 2019 Suffolk Cross Country Invitational on Saturday afternoon with a total of 231 points.

How It Happened

Junior Timothy Sheehy (Wakefield, R.I.) paced the Falcons with a 28th place time of 27:32.2 over the 8K course, while freshman Matthew Catarius (Shrewsbury, Mass.) entered the chute next, finishing in 31st place with a time of 27:37.4

Freshman Brian O'Sullivan (Templeton, Mass.) followed in 46th with a time of 28:27.7, while sophomore Trevor Fields (Shirley, Mass.) was next for the Green and Gold, turning in a time of 29:06.5. Rounding out the top seven finishers for the Falcons were freshman Samuel Flint (Methuen, Mass.) (29:20.7), classmate Conor Dandy (Westminster, Mass.) (30:38.2) and sophomore Ethan Goodreau (Spencer, Mass.) (31:32.2).

Southern Maine won the 2019 Suffolk University Cross Country Invitational with a total of 47 points.

Sophomore Matyas Csiki-Fejer (Manchester, Mo.) of Suffolk placed first overall with a time of 26:03.7
