3rd Place Finish for Falcons at Maple Syrup Challenge

Randolph, VT. – The Fitchburg State men's cross country team placed third at the Maple Syrup Challenge hosted by Vermont Tech on Saturday afternoon.

Place: 3rd place, 99 points (11 Teams)

How It Happened

  • Junior Taban Manyok (Lynn, Mass.) crossed the 8k course with a time of 28:26.90, finishing first for the Falcons and securing sixth place overall.
  • Freshmen Michael Burns (Worcester, Mass.) and senior Cameron Davis (Gardner, Mass.) finished in the top 20 with times of 31:14.45 and 31:30.26, respectively.
  • Senor Tyssen LaBombard (Shelburne Falls, Mass.) finished fourth for the Falcons and 26th overall with a time of 33:17.37, while sophomore Aidan Cattelan (West Hartford, Conn.) rounded out the Green and Gold scoring in 33rd place (34:16.72)
  • Other Finishers: Junior Angelo Pinto (Chaplin Conn.) 35th (34:39.33) and freshman Brady Madigan (Ayer, Mass.) 43rd (37:05.56)
  • Middlebury won the meet with a total of 15 points. Saint Michael's finished in second (59 points), while Fitchburg State rounded out the top three (99 points).
