Manyok Repeats, Falcons Place Third at MASCAC Championship

Junior Taban Manyok (Lynn, Mass.) notched his second consecutive individual title to pace the Fitchburg State men's cross country team to a third-place finish at the 2022 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Championship this afternoon at Stanley Park hosted by Westfield State University.

How It Happened

Manyok captured back-to-back titles with a late push to complete the 8K course in a time of 26:14.11, edging John Nekitopoulous from Westfield State. With the win, Manyok was named the MASCAC Runner of the Year and MASCAC All-Conference.

The Falcons also placed rookie Michael Burns (Worcester, Mass.) on the MASCAC All-Conference team with a 10th-place finish and a time of 28:04.31

Senior Tyssen LaBombard (Shelburne Falls, Mass.) was the next to cross the finish line in 21st place (29:14.13) followed by sophomore Aidan Cattelan (West Hartford, Conn.) in 23rd (29:24.93).

Senior Cameron Davis (Gardner, Mass.) finished in 26th place with a time of 29:46.63 to close out the scoring for the Green and Gold.

  •             Bridgewater placed first overall at this year's MASCAC Championship with a total of 42 points, followed by Westfield state in second with 46 points.
