Men's Cross Country Finish Fifth At 2023 Purple Valley Classic
Burns leads the way for the Green and Gold with 51st place time of 28:24.0
Williamstown, MA. – The Fitchburg State University men's cross country team placed fifth overall with a total of 153 points at the 2023 Purple Valley Classic at the Mt. Greylock Cross Country Trails, hosted by Williams College.

How It Happened
Sophomore Michael Burns (Worcester, MA) led the way for the Falcons, placing 51st overall with a time of 28:24.0 over the 8K course, while junior Cristian Bueno Campos (Lawrence, MA) followed in 61st place at 29:35.2.
Freshman Joshua Lancaster (Holden, MA) entered the chute with a time of 30:40.4, while senior Tyssen LaBombard (Shelburne Falls, MA) was next, crossing the finish line at 30:53.4
Sophomore Elijah Stathis (North Hampton, MA) notched a time of 31:29, while junior Casey LaCombe (South Hadley, MA) registered a time of 31:19.7. Graduate student Cameron Davis (Gardner, MA) rounded out the top Falcons efforts on the with a time of 31:35.6
