Kerr Collects MASCAC Softball Pitcher Of The Week
Concord, Mass. native earns first weekly award of the season
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Sophomore Galen Kerr was recently tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Kerr earns her first weekly honor of the season after going 2-0 with an ERA of 0.00 in a pair of games for the Green and Gold. The first-year Falcon, pitched a complete-game three hitter with nine K's in a 16-0 shutout victory over Massachusetts Maritime before collecting her second win on the afternoon with 2.1 innings of relief with three strikeouts in a 10-5 win against the Buccaneers on Saturday to complete the sweep for Fitchburg State.
The Fitchburg State softball team (8-5, 3-1 MASCAC) will be in action again on Wednesday as it hosts the Pride of Regis College for a non-conference double header, starting at 3 p.m.
