Softball Teams Up With The Community
Fitchburg State softball gives back
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Members of the Fitchburg State University softball team teamed up with the 21st Century After School Program at the Crocker Elementary School in Fitchburg. Senior Brianna Uga, junior Kelsea LeBlanc and freshmen Michelle LeBlanc, Michaela Keenan and Kaylee Sylvestre spoke to Crocker Elementary students about playing softball as well as about Fitchburg State University.
The members of the Fitchburg State softball team answered questions from the second, third and fourth graders before going outside to demonstrate how to wear a glove, hold and swing a bat as well as how to catch and play the game of softball, turning a seemingly normal afternoon into a life changing event for those students.
The Fitchburg State softball team concluded its 2016 season with an overall record of 19-18 and a 7-7 mark within MASCAC play, en-route to claiming the fourth seed in the MASCAC softball post-season tournament.
