Kerr Tabbed MASCAC Softball Pitcher Of The Week
Concord, Mass. native collects first weekly honor on the season
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State senior pitcher Galen Kerr was named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) softball pitcher of the week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
The third-year Falcon earns her first weekly accolade on the year after posting an ERA of 0.88, giving up just two earned runs on 14 hits with 22 strikeouts in 16 innings of work, while registering three wins on the week.
Galen gave up just one earned run on seven hits with seven K's in a complete game, 2-1 game two win over Plymouth State on Tuesday before combining to allow two runs (1 earned) on seven hits with 15 strikeouts, en-route to collecting both wins in the circle in a double header sweep of MASCAC rival MCLA on Friday afternoon.
Fitchburg State (11-11, 6-2 MASCAC) returns to action on Wednesday as it travels to Nichols College to take on the Bison for a double header, starting at 3:30 PM.
