Falcons To Host Trailblazers In MASCAC Opening Round

Green and Gold clinch fourth seed in MASCAC Softball Post-Season Tournament 

Fitchburg, Mass. – The fourth seeded Falcons of Fitchburg State University will host the fifth seeded Trailblazers of MCLA on Wednesday, May 1st in opening round action of the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Post-Season Tournament.

The Green and Gold clinched the fourth seed after splitting a double header with the Rams of Framingham State University on Sunday afternoon and after the completion of the rest of the conference regular season games on Monday found out that they host the Trailblazers of MCLA on Wednesday, May 1st at the Donna Lee Withington Memorial Softball Field at 3:30 PM.

The Falcons swept the Trailblazers earlier this season as Fitchburg State took game one by a score of 4-1 before completing the sweep with a 2-1 triumph in the night cap.

The winner of the Fitchburg State/MCLA contest will travel to top seeded Bridgewater State on Friday for quarterfinal round action at 4:00 PM.
