Savone Earns MASCAC Rookie of the Week

Fitchburg, Mass. - First year Falcon Julianna Savone (Palm Coast, Fla.) was MASCAC Softball Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon

Savone batted .571 (8-for-14) with a double, a home run, three runs scored, and seven RBI with a .611 on-base percentage and a .857 slugging percent-age in four games for the Falcons. Went 2-for-4 with home run and three RBI in 5-3 conference win over Salem State. Also had two hits and a RBI in 4-0 shutout over the Vikings. Went 4-for-7 with four hits and three RBI in a pair of non-conference games versus Salem State on Saturday afternoon. 

The Fitchburg State softball team returns to action on Saturday as they host Mass. Maritime for a non-conference double header, starting at 12:00 PM.
