Fahey Collects DIII Hoops All-Region Honors

Wilmington, Mass. native collects second post-season accolade of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. (March 23, 2012) – Sophomore Amy Fahey (Wilmington, Mass./Wilmington) was recently named to the DIIIhoops.com All-Region second team as selected by the various Sports Information Directors in NCAA Division III athletics.         

Fahey continues to bring in the post-season accolades after being named the MASCAC’s Women’s Basketball Player of the Year. The sophomore forward witnessed a breakout season for the Falcons, leading both the league and the team in scoring with 23.6 ppg. Fahey nearly posted a double-double each evening, turning in 9.6 rebounds per contest, while shooting 51.1% from the field and almost 80.0% from the charity stripe.

The Fitchburg State women’s basketball team concluded the 2011-12 season with an overall record of 16-9 and a 4-8 mark in the MASCAC. The Falcons advanced to the MASCAC quarterfinals, falling to MCLA 83-76 on the road.
