Cougars Race Past Falcons in Non-Conference Action
Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State Women's Basketball team dropped a 71-49 decision to the Cougars of Clark University in non-conference action at Parkinson Gymnasium.

How It Happened
1st Quarter
Clark raced out to a 7-0 lead with a pair of buckets from Hannah Favaloro (Blackstone, Mass.) and Jacqueline Faulise (North Kingstown, RI). The Falcons responded with a trey and a jumper from newcomer Rylie Harlow (Hanson, Mass.) and a bucket from freshman Stephanie Hart (Shirley, Mass.) to knot the game at 7-all. The Cougars countered and 8-0 capped by a jumper from sophomore Mariah Harris (Stoughton, Mass.) to hold a 18-12 lead after one period.
2nd Quarter
Senior Lovashia Rosario (Worcester, Mass.) delivered a deep ball to cut into the Cougars lead (23-17) midway through the frame. Senior Ginny Benbow (Durham, Conn.) completed a three-point play for Clark to push the lead to 26-17. The Green and Gold ended the quarter with six unanswered points, including three from senior Jadelen Harold (Nantucket, Mass.) and Rosario.
3rd Quarter
Following intermission, the Falcons made it a one-point game (33-32) with a layup from Harold. The Cougars upped the lead to 41-34 after four points from Favaloro. Fitchburg State chipped the lead to 53-38 on a jumper from Rosario but Favaloro added four more points for Clark for the 57-40 margin going into the fourth quarter.
4th Quarter
The Falcon continued to battle as Harlow hit a jumper and sophomore Olivia Almeida (Wilmington, Mass.) added a three-pointer to cut the lead to 61-46 but Clark closed out the game with four from the charity stripe, resulting in the 71-49 final.
Inside the Numbers
- Harold paced the Falcons with 9 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks, while Hart had a game-best 11 boards
- Harlow added 14 points, 4 caroms and 5 assists for the Green and Gold. Rosario had 11 points off the bench.
- For the Cougars, Favalore led the way with a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds
- Clark shot 25-of-62 (40.3%) from the field and (5-for-14) 35.7% from three-point range
- Fitchburg State finished 20-for-67 (29.9%) overall and (6-for-34) 17.6% for beyond the arc
- Fitchburg held a 48-44 advantage on the boards
