Women's Basketball Falls to Owls

FITCHBURG, MA: Fitchburg State women's basketball fell to the Owls of Westfield State this evening in conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Owls were led by Jordan Grant, who reached 1,000 points in her career after scoring her first five points. She finished the game with a game-high 17 points to go along with seven rebounds. Hannah Sheldon contributed 16 points and five steals. Maddie Pond and Jess Gardner rounded out the top scorers. Pond had 14 points, while Gardner had 11 points and 10 rebounds.

- The Falcons were topped by Mikayler Patch (N. Attleboro, MA) with 14 points and seven rebounds. Stephanie Hart (Shirley, MA) followed her with eight points and 10 rebounds.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Shooting: Westfield finished shooting 33.3% from the floor, 21.6% from three, and 70% from the line. Fitchburg finished 33.3% from the floor, 12.5% from three, and 83.3% from the line.

-  Rebounds: Fitchburg 55, Westfield 52

-  Assists: Westfield 13, Fitchburg 8
