Laferriere Named MASCAC Women’s Lacrosse Rookie Of The Week

Tyngsboro, Mass. native earns second weekly accolade of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. (April 22, 2014) – Freshman Ali Laferriere (Tyngsboro, Mass.) was recently tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Laferriere collects her second consecutive weekly honor of the season after posting ten points on nine scores and one helper, while adding 20 draw controls, seven ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers in a 2-0 week for the Falcons. The first-year Falcon netted three points on three scores as well as ten draw controls in a 15-8 victory against Mass. Maritime Academy on Wednesday night before collecting seven points on six goals and one assist with ten draw controls in an 18-10 win over the Vikings of Salem State on Saturday afternoon.

The Fitchburg State women’s lacrosse team returns to action on Wednesday as it visits the Chargers of Colby-Sawyer College at 4:30 p.m.
