Women’s Lacrosse Names Three To All-Conference Team

Falcons earn three All-Conference second team honors

FITCHBURG, Mass. (April 30, 2014) – The Fitchburg State women’s lacrosse team named three players to the 2014 MASCAC Women’s Lacrosse All-Conference team as announced by the conference office this afternoon.

Freshman Ali Laferriere (Tyngsboro, Mass.), senior Markie Apple (Pittsfield, Mass.) and junior Lindsay White (Hanover, Mass.) were all named to the MASCAC All-Conference second team.

Laferriere paved the way for the Falcons this season, ranking first both on the team and in the MASCAC with 67 goals on the year. Laferriere has registered 76 points to date with a single season record, 67 goals and nine assists. She has also dominated the draw, posting a single-season mark of 128 draw controls.

Apple collects her all-conference nomination this season after registering a strong senior campaign. Apple ranked fourth on the team in scoring with 40 points on 35 goals and five assists, while leading the Falcons on the ground with a team-best 42 groundballs. In addition, Apple added 29 wins off the draw, while chipping in with a team-best three game-winning scores.

White rounds out the list of All-Conference award winners have posting a solid junior year. Ranking second on the team in scoring, White totaled 49 points on the season with 41 goals and eight assists, while adding 19 groundballs and three game-winning tallies.

The fourth-seeded Falcons will be back in action on Thursday as they travel to top-seeded Bridgewater State University for semifinal round action of the 2014 MASCAC Women’s Lacrosse tournament.
