Laferriere Tabbed MASCAC Women’s Lacrosse Player Of The Week

Tyngsboro, Mass. native earns first weekly accolade of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State senior Ali Laferriere was selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The fourth-year Falcon collects her first weekly honor on the year after registering 12 points on eight goals and four assists to go along with three ground balls, eight draw controls and five caused turnovers in three games for the Green and Gold.

Laferriere notched three goals, one ground ball, two draw controls and three caused turnovers in a 12-10 setback to Transylvania University on Monday before adding eight points with four markers and four helpers as well as two ground balls, six draw controls and one caused turnover in a 14-10 win over Curry College on Tuesday. Ali capped the week with one goal and a caused turnover in a 14-2 setback to Vassar College on Thursday. With her eight goals and 12 points, Laferriere became the Falcons all-time career leader in goals scored and total points.

The Fitchburg State women's lacrosse team (2-3, 0-0 MASCAC) returns to action on Tuesday as it travels to Eastern Connecticut State for a contest starting at 7 p.m.
