Napolitano Earns MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Rookie Of The Week Honors

Peabody, Mass. native picks up first weekly honor on the year
 
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State sophomore Sarah Napolitano (Peabody, Mass.) was named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
 
The first-year Falcon registers her first weekly accolade of the season after posting 15 points on eight goals and seven helpers to go along with three ground balls, two draw controls and one caused turnover in a 2-0 week for the Green and Gold.
 
Napolitano notched a career-best ten points on five scores and five assists as well as one ground ball, one draw control and one caused turnover in a 16-5 win over Gordon on Tuesday before adding five points on three goals and two helper to go along with tow ground balls and one draw control in a 13-12 double overtime triumph against SUNY Canton on Thursday.
 
The Fitchburg State women's lacrosse team (4-0, 0-0 MASCAC) returns to action on Wednesday as it hosts the Chargers of Colby-Sawyer College at Franklin Pierce University for a contest starting at 5:00 PM.​
