Duo Of Falcons Named MASCAC Players Of The Week

Kibler and Jamieson grab conference weekly honors

FITCHBURG, Mass. (September 19, 2011) – Senior Chris Kibler (Bath, Maine/Morse) and sophomore Rachel Jamieson (Foxboro, Mass./Foxboro) collected a pair of MASCAC Player of the Week honors as announced by the conference office this afternoon.

Kibler earned his second consecutive MASCAC Runner of the Week honor after leading the Fitchburg State men’s cross country team at the UMass Dartmouth Shiners’ Invitational this past weekend. At the meet, Kibler posted a 14th place individual finish in a field of 255 participants. The senior captain completed the 8K layout in 25:21, giving Fitchburg State a 12th place team finish overall.

On the pitch, Jamieson was equally as strong, earning her first MASCAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week accolade of the year. Jamieson led the Fitchburg State women’s soccer team to a perfect 2-0 week, totaling ten points on five goals scored. The sophomore forward tallied a hat trick in a 6-0 win over Becker before completing the week with a pair of goals in a 4-1 victory at Salem State.

The Fitchburg State women’s soccer team will be back in action tomorrow night as it hosts UMass Boston at 7 p.m. while the men’s and women’s cross country teams travel to the Worcester City Meet this Saturday at 11 a.m.
