Foster Collects MASCAC Player and Rookie of the Week Honors
Leominster, Mass. native earns second weekly accolade of the season
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman goalkeeper Alexandra Foster was recently named both Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Soccer Player and Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
The first-year Falcon collects her second weekly honor of the season after posting 16 saves with an .800 save percentage and a 1.92 goals against average in a 1-1 week for the Green and Gold. Foster stopped six shots in Fitchburg State's 3-0 setback to Curry on Tuesday before registering ten saves in a 2-1 overtime win over Westfield State on Saturday.
The Fitchburg State women's soccer team (3-5-0, 1-1-0 MASCAC) returns to action on Tuesday as it hosts the Seahawks of Salve Regina University at Elliot Field for a contest starting at 7 p.m.
