Hemmings sets new Fitchburg State single game saves record with 21 stops
Worcester, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to the Cougars of Clark University this evening in non-conference action at the Clark University Lacrosse & Soccer Turf Field.

How It Happened
Clark threatened late in the first half as sophomore midfielder Sara Conroy (Clifton Park, N.Y,) and junior forward Alex Pariseau (Millbury, Mass.) fired back-to-back shots on frame, but Falcon keeper Sarah Hemmings (Eastham, Mass.) turned aside both shots as the two teams entered the break with the score 0-0.
In the second half, the Cougars broke the 0-0 stalemate in the 47th minute of action when sophomore Bailey Glenn (Middleboro, Mass.) collected a feed from freshman Janiah Lambert (Piscataway, N.J.) and deposited the ball into the back of the net for her third tally on the year for the 1-0 margin.
Follow a goal from freshman forward Inonge Kaloustian (Bowie, Md.) that pushed Clark's lead to 2-0 at the 63:00 minute mark. The hosts added an insurance tally at the 73:26 mark as Lambert found the back of the net for her second goal of the year, resulting in the 3-0 final.
Inside the Numbers
This evening's is just the second meeting between the two schools on the pitch with the Falcons 0-2-0 when taking on the Cougars.
Fitchburg State freshman keeper Sarah Hemmings (Eastham, Mass.) ranks within the top five in the MASCAC in saves (53) and goals against average (2.47).
Clark finished with a 36-0 advantage in shots, while also holding a 10-0 edge in corner kicks.
In goal, Hemmings finished with a new Fitchburg State single game record 21 saves, surpassing the previous mark of 19, set by former Falcon keeper Jillian Kirouac '14 on September 22, 2012.
