Read Earns MASCAC Women’s Soccer Rookie And Player Of The Week Honors

Lowell, Mass. native collects first weekly honor of the year

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman forward Elizabeth Read (Lowell, Mass.) was recently tabbed both Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Soccer Rookie and Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The first-year Falcons picks up her first weekly accolades on the year after posting six points on two goals and two assists in a 1-1 week for the Green and Gold.

Read netted a pair of goals, including her first collegiate tally in a 2-0 triumph over Dean College on Friday afternoon before adding two helpers in a 3-2 setback to Colby-Sawyer College on Saturday at the 2019 Bulldog Bash at Dean College.

The Fitchburg State Women's Soccer (1-1, 0-0 MASCAC) returns to action on Tuesday as it hosts the Hawks of Becker College at Elliot Field, starting at 4:00 PM.
