Read nets two goals in conference setback
Framingham, Mass. – The Fitchburg State Women's Soccer team dropped a 3-2 decision to the Rams of Framingham State University this afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action from the Maple Street Field.

How It Happened
Fitchburg State grabbed a 1-0 lead 5:50 into the contest as freshman forward Elizabeth Read (Lowell, Mass.) received a feed from classmate Mollie Burke (Athol, Mass.) and deposited a shot into the back of the net for her team-leading fifth tally on the season.
Framingham State knotted the score (1-1) in the 20th minutes when senior Sam Beninati (West Newbury, Mass.) connected on an unassisted tally. The Green and Gold regained the advantage at the 42:37 mark with Read netting her second score of the contest for the 2-1 edge going into the break.
Following the intermission, the Rams retied the match (2-2) in the 51st minute of play on a goal from junior Jasmine Lees (Middleboro, Mass.) before the hosts regained the lead five minutes later on Lees's second tally on the day for the 3-2 final.

This afternoon's contest will mark the 26th meeting between the two teams on the pitch with the Falcons 8-17-1 all-time when taking on the Rams
