Women's Soccer Blanked by Warriors

WINDHAM, CT: Fitchburg State women's soccer was defeated by Eastern Connecticut State this evening in non-conference action.  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 9/6/23

- Score: Eastern Conn. St. 4, Fitchburg 0.

- Records: Eastern Conn. St. (1-1), Fitchburg (1-2)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Warriors got on the board first just 6:44 into the first half on a penalty kick after a Falcon defender grabbed jersey inside the 18. Ashlyn Rogers would beat the Fitchburg keeper low and to the left on the PK. Rogers would add an assist to her stat line after Carly Alston cleaned up on a rebounded shot at 13:42. The Warriors would take a 2-0 lead into the half.

- Eastern Connecticut would tack on another in the 67th minute on a header by Grace Muller off a corner set piece from Hailey Cocca. Madison Palmer would add the fourth and final goal of the contest, again coming off a corner in the final minute.

- Madison Dawkins (Haverhill, MA) was tagged with the loss, falling to 1-2 on the season after seeing 12 shots and saving eight. Kaeden Dublin got the win, getting her first of the season with no shots faced.

-  Fouls: Eastern Conn. St. 12, Fitchburg 11.
