Vaudo turns aside ten shot for Green and Gold

Fitchburg, MA – The Fitchburg State women's soccer team suffered a tough 3-0 setback to the Colonels of Curry College this evening in non-conference action from Elliot Field.

How It Happened

Curry College opened the scoring in the ninth minute of action as freshman Abby Corcoran (Marlborough, MA) first shot inside the near post for her second tally of the season for the 1-0 advantage.

The Colonels doubled their margin (2-0) at the 26:17 mark when junior Kiera Lindmark (Haverhill, MA) headed home a feed from classmate Brooke Sullivan (Berkley, MA) into the back of the net for her first score of the 2023 campaign.

Following the intermission, Fitchburg State threatened in the 58th minute of play with sophomore Adrianna Westcott (Sayreville, NJ) blasting a shot on frame, but Curry keeper Hannah Correa (Carver, MA) turned the shot aside.

The visitors secured the victory at the 71:31 mark as freshman Mia Schena (Nahant, MA) struck for her second goal of the year off an assist from Lindmark, resulting in the 3-0 final.
