Falcons Battle At 2016 DIII New England Championships

Woolley places eighth in 60 meter hurdles with ECAC qualifying time of 9.43 seconds

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Fitchburg State women's indoor track team completed in the 2015-16 New England Division III Championship Meet this weekend, hosted by Middlebury College at the Virtue Field House on the New Balance Foundation Track.

Sophomore Annie Woolley paced the Falcons with an eighth place finish in the 60 meter hurdles with an ECAC qualifying time of 9.43 seconds, while the 4x800 meter relay team of sophomores Nicole Gaffney, Shawna Ryan, Cassie Lavallee and Casey Taylor turned in a solid time of 10:44.22.

Junior Morgan Steele posted a 12th place effort in the weight throw with a toss of 13.71 meters, while adding a 16th place finish in the shot put with a throw of 10.78 meters to round out the top Falcon efforts over the weekend.

The Fitchburg State women's indoor track & field team return to action next weekend as select members will compete in the 2015-16 Open New England Championships hosted by Boston University, starting on Friday afternoon at 4 p.m.
