Falcons Place Fourth At MASCAC Championships

4x200 meter relay team paces Green and Gold with third place finish

Plymouth, N.H. – The Fitchburg State University women's indoor track & field team placed fourth overall at the 2018-19 MASCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships with a total of 26 points, hosted by Plymouth State University this afternoon.

How It Happened

The 4x200 meter relay team of sophomore Paige Anderson (Winchendon, Mass.), freshman Chloe Guzman (Pawtucket, Conn.), senior Phedelia Boakye (Lowell, Mass.) and sophomore Sylvia Owusu-Agyeiwaa (Webster, Mass.) placed third overall with time of 2:00.72, while newcomer Denise Yeboah (Worcester, Mass.) posted a sixth place time of 28.94 seconds in the 200 meter.

In the 60 meter hurdles, Owusu-Agyeiwaa (10.22) and sophomore Makaisha Gonzalez (Lancaster, Mass.) (10.26) placed fourth and fifth respectively, while sophomore Kambrynn Bowman (Norton, Mass.) turned in a sixth place time of 3:25.43 in the 1000 meter.

Senior Jennifer Desilvestre (Beverly, Mass.) (5th) and freshman Nyasia Torres (Fitchburg, Mass.) (6th) notched times of 2:58.84 and 2:59.11 in the 800 meter, while Guzman finished ninth overall in the 60 meter dash with time of 8.73 seconds.

Junior Brianna Young (Mansfield, Mass.) placed sixth in the shot put (10.27m) and seventh in the weight throw (10.61m), while Desilvestre notched a seventh place effort in the triple jump with a mark of 9.19 meters to close out the top Falcon performances on the day.
