Cambridge, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University women's indoor track & field team competed at the 2020 Greater Boston Track Club Invite today, hosted by Harvard University.

How It Happened

Senior Brianna Young (Mansfield, Mass.) paced the Falcons with a pair of MASCAC qualifying marks in the shotput (10,33m) and the weight throw (10.94m), placing third and fourth, while sophomore Chloe Guzman (Pawtucket, Conn.) notched a third place finish in the triple jump with a post-season qualifying mark of 10,17 meters.

In the 600 meter, freshman Lilah McAndrew (Old Lyme, Conn.) (10th) and sophomore Regan Kelly (Wilbraham, Mass.) (13th) registered MASCAC qualifying times of 1:54.85 and 2:07.16, while Guzman added her second post-season qualifying time on the afternoon, finishing eighth in the 200 meter with a time of 28.77 seconds.

Junior Olivia Mullins (Plaistow, N.H.) posted a post-season qualifying time of 5:31.30 in the mile, while freshman Abigail Murphy (Quincy, Mass.) notched a MASCAC qualifying time of 3:17.69 in the 1000 meter with a tenth place effort.

In the field, junior Megan Socha (Chicopee, Mass.) placed ninth in the high jump with a MASCAC qualifying mark of 1.40 meters, while freshman Marissa Ladderbush (Tewksbury, Mass.) collected a post-season qualifying mark of 4.81 meters in the long jump with a seventh place finish..

In the weight throw, senior Kelly Mccuskerp-Brown (Watertown, Mass.) (fifth) and junior Allissa Carroll (Boxford, Mass.) (seventh) qualified for the post-season with tosses of 10.00m and 7.94m, while Socha (2.60m) and Ladderbush (2.45m) placed seventh and ninth respectively in the pole vault to qualify for MASCAC's.

Freshman Devin Tormey (Fitchburg, Mass.) turned in a MASCAC qualifying time of 10.47 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles, while in the 60 meter dash, Ladderbush collected her third post-season qualifying mark, placing tenth with a time of 8.80 seconds, Newcomer Molly Shurtleff (Lakeville, Mass.) rounded out the top efforts for the Green and Gold on the afternoon, turning in a time of 4:01.46 in the 800 meter.
