Murphy and Yeboah lead the way for Fitchburg State with third place efforts
Middletown, Conn. – The Fitchburg State University women's indoor track & field team competed at the 2020 Wesleyan Invitational at the Bacon Field House this afternoon.

How It Happened
Freshman Abigail Murphy (Quincy, Mass.) led the way for the Falcons, placing third over in the 1000 meter with a MASCAC qualifying time of 3:14.19, while sophomore Denise Yeboah (Worcester, Mass.) added a post-season qualifying mark of 4.62 meters in the long jump after finishing third overall.
In the 60 meter, sophomores Chloe Guzman (Pawtucket, Conn.) (8.52) and Sabrina Gibbons () (8.73) placed tenth and 16th to qualify for the post-season, while Guzman also notched a MASCAC qualifying time of 28.47 seconds in the 200 meter with a tenth place finish.
Freshmen Nicole Cofer (Lowell, Mass.) (3:04.56) and Nicolette Kennedy (Groveland, Mass.) (3:36.21) placed eighth and tenth in the 800 meter to qualify for MASCAC's, while newcomer Lilah McAndrew (Old Lyme, Conn.) collected a seventh place time of 3:25.70 in the 1000 meter to qualify for the post-season.
In the mile, junior Olivia Mullins (Plaistow, N.H.) turned in a 15th place effort of 5:48.93 to qualify for the post-season, while also qualifying for MASCAC's in the mile 3000 meter with a fourth place time of 11:53.73.
In the field, senior Brianna Young (Mansfield, Mass.) (9.72m) and freshman Samantha Moriconi (Billerica, Mass.) (9.52m) placed seventh and ninth respectively in the shotput to both qualify for the post-season, while in the weight throw, senior Kelly Mccusker-Brown (Watertown, Mass.) (6th), Moriconi (11th) and junior Allissa Carroll (Boxford, Mass.) (12th) collected MASCAC qualifying tosses of 10.07m, 7.52m and 7.46m to close out the top performances for the Green and Gold on the day.
