Camara Tabbed MASCAC Field Athlete Of The Week

Lynn, Mass. native notches first weekly honor of the season 

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State senior Makany Camara (Lynn, Mass.) was recently selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Indoor Track Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

The fourth-year Falcon earned her first weekly accolade on the year after placing second overall in the high jump with a personal best, DIII qualifying mark of 1.66 meters, while adding a tenth place effort in the 200 meter with a time of 29.27 seconds for the Green and Gold at the 2024 Branwen Smith-King Invitational, hosted by Tufts University on Saturday. Makany is currently ranked tenth in the nation in the high jump.

The Fitchburg State Women's Indoor Track & Field team returns to action on Saturday as they compete at the 2024 Wesleyan Indoor Invitation, starting at 10:00AM.
