Falcons Host Annual Eric Loeschner Memorial Invite

Anderson leads the way for Green and Gold

Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University women's outdoor track & field team placed third overall with a total of 62.3 points as the Falcons hosted its annual Eric Loeschner Memorial Invitational this afternoon from Elliot Field.

How It Happened

Senior Jennifer Desilvestre placed 14th in the 1500 meter with a post-season qualifying time of 6:11.42, while adding a fourth place effort in the triple jump with mark of 9.18m, while junior Kambrynn Bowman (Norton, Mass.) finished fourth in the 800 meter with a MASCAC qualifying time of 2:37.21.

Sophomore Paige Anderson (Winchendon, Mass.) posted a fourth place finish in the 200 meter with a MASCAC qualifying time of 29.71 seconds, while juniors Kelly Mccusker-Brown (Watertown, Mass.) (25.56m) and Heisha Santos-Flores (Webster, Mass.) (25.10m) notched post-season qualifying marks in the hammer throw.

In the field, Mccusker-Brown, sophomore Madison Podedworny (Webster, Mass.) and newcomer Breanna Lizotte (Hudson, Mass.) placed third, fourth and fifth in the javelin with MASCAC qualifying tosses of 25.33m, 25.23m and 24.55m respectively, while Anderson took top honors in the triple jump with post-season qualifying mark of 10.17 meter.

Anderson was also solid in the high jump, placing second overall with a MASCAC qualifying jump of 1.40 meters, while junior Brianna Young (Mansfield, Mass.) finished fourth in the shot put with a post-season qualifying toss of 10.20m.

In the discus, sophomore Abigail Castelo (North Attleboro, Mass.) turned in a post-season qualifying toss of 27.16m with a fifth place finish, Young rounded out the top performances for the Green and Gold with a MASCAC qualifying toss of 32.30 meters.
