Falcons Place Fourth At MASCAC Championships

Green and Gold collect 25 points to place fourth overall

Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University women's outdoor track & field team placed fourth overall with a total of 25 points at the 2019 MASCAC/Alliance Outdoor Championships at Elliot Field this afternoon.

How It Happened

Sophomore Denise Yeboah (Worcester, Mass.) placed seventh in the 200 meter with a time of 29.52, while in the 800 meter junior Kambrynn Bowman (Norton, Mass.) and newcomer Regan Kelly (Wilbraham, Mass.) placed eighth and ninth respectively with times of 2:38.15 and 2:42.61.

In the 100 meter hurdles, sophomore Sylvia Owusu-Agyeiwaa (Webster, Mass.) finished fifth with a time of 18.04 seconds, while newcomer Chloe Guzman (Pawtucket, Conn.) turned in a time of 14.11 seconds with a tenth place finish in the 100 meter.

In the field, sophomore Paige Anderson (Winchendon, Mass.) turned in a sixth place effort in the high jump with a mark of 1.40 meters, while Yeboah added a sixth place mark of 4.88 meters in the long jump.

In the triple jump, Anderson (9.78m) and senior Jennifer Desilvestre (Beverly, Mass.) (9.39m) placed sixth and tenth respectively, while in the javelin, freshman Breanna Lizotte (Hudson, Mass.), junior Madison Podedworny (Webster, Mass.), and senior Kelly Mccusker-Brown (Watertown, Mass.) posted tosses of 25.55m, 25.25m and 24.66m after finishing fifth, sixth and seventh.

Senior Brianna Young (Mansfield, Mass.) notched a sixth place effort in the shot put with a toss of 9.77 meters, while Young also placed fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 32.75 meters to cap the top Falcon performances on the day.
