Falcons Soar at BSU Invitational

Bridgewater, Mass.  – The Fitchburg State University women's outdoor track & field team competed at the 2021 Bridgewater State Invitation this morning in a non-scoring event.

How It Happened

• Sophomore Abigail Murphy (Quincy, Mass.) earned a first-place victory in the 800 meter race with a time of 2:31.49 while teammate Lilah McAndrew (Old Lyme, Conn) came in 8^th place (2:44.81).
• In the 1500 meter, junior Courtney Brouillet (Fitchburg, Mass.) posted a time of 7:00.29.
• Kayla Scarela (Fitchburg, Mass.) placed fifth in the 5000 meter (25:55.66), while senior Olivia Mullins had a time of 45:35.95 in the 10000 meter run.
• In the field  senior Brianna Young (Mansfield, Mass.) was second in the shot put (9.55m) and second in the hammer throw (34.54m)
• Freshman Kailey Norton (Worcester, Mass.) earned third place in discus (28.05m), fourth in shot put (8.98m) and seventh in javelin (16.71m)
