Camara Selected MASCAC WOTK Field Athlete Of The Week

Lowell, Mass. Notches first weekly honor on the season

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State junior Makany Camara (Lowell, Mass.) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

The third-year Falcon collected her first weekly accolade on the year after taking top honors in the high jump with a DIII New England qualifying mark of 1.60 meters, while finishing first overall in the 100 meter hurdles with a DIII NE qualifying time of 15.85 seconds for the Green and Gold at the 2023 Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State Women's Outdoor Track & Field Team returns to action on Saturday as they compete at the 2023 Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College.
