Riccardi registers team-best eight kills for Falcons in non-conference setback 

Henniker, N.H. – The Fitchburg State University women's volleyball team dropped a tough 3-0 decision to the Pilgrims of New England College in non-conference action this evening at Bridges Gymnasium.

How It Happened

Freshman middle hitter Lauren Riccardi (Tewksbury, Mass.) paced the Falcons with a team-best eight kills and two digs, while freshman libero Jessica Peirce (Brentwood, N.H.) added 12 digs and one service aces. Junior Kathryn Carroll (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and newcomer Perry Joubert (Seekonk, Mass.) aided the Green and Gold, combining for seven digs, three kills, three service aces and six assists.

For New England College, freshman setter Kennedy Somavia (Red Bluff, Calif.) led the way with a game-best 29 assists, five digs, one kill and two service aces, while junior libero Meaghan Six (Manchester, N.H.) chipped in with eight digs and one assist. Newcomer Dreka Griffin (Calera, Ala.) finished with 14 kills and a pair of digs.

Falcons dropped a 3-0 decision to the Pilgrims (25-17, 25-15, 25-21) earlier this season at the Parkinson Gymnasium.
